DPC Pingtan is surrounded by various kitesurfing locations that cater to a diverse range of skill levels, from beginners to pro athletes. During the early to late summer months, the southeast wind prevails over the wide bay at Liushui Spot, just a short 10-minute car drive from DPC Pingtan. Here, optimal conditions prevail with beginner-friendly flat water and winds reaching 15 knots or more. Transitioning into autumn, DPC Pingtan experiences a daily average of 12-25 knots of northeast wind. For beginners seeking a suitable spot, Red Rock Beach, a mere 100 meters from DPC, offers flat water and consistent wind.

If you desire to explore more spots around the island, Changjiangao and Tannan Bay present additional enticing options for kitesurfing enthusiasts.

Wind Forecast

Pingtan Island, is well known for its long clean sandy beach, thanks to the venturi effect in the Taiwan Strait, great wind blows all year round. 

From June to August the water is flat, very good for all levels. When it comes to September to November, the waves are bigger, and better suited for intermediate and pros, with an average of 25 knots northeast wind, also great for those who want to get into the waves or jump big!
